Individual Therapy
Offered by Chris Vara, LCSW-C, LICSW, MDiv
For people struggling to overcome OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and eating disorders, we offer a strength based, person-centered approach. In the therapeutic space we create together, we will work to achieve goals you set for yourself – which you can revise as we go.
Family Therapy
Offered by Chris Vara, LCSW-C, LICSW, MDiv
Certain issues impact the whole family – trauma, eating disorders, OCD, even someone’s shifting sexual and/or gender identity. You and your family are not expected to work through these and other matters alone. Help is available.
Family Based Treatment (FBT) and Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) are two of the most effective evidence based treatments for adolescents wanting to recover from eating disorders and/or OCD.
Couples Therapy
Offered by Chris Vara, LCSW-C, LICSW, MDiv
For couples navigating challenges in communication, trust, intimacy, or conflict, we offer a compassionate, solution-focused approach. In the supportive space we build together, we will work towards goals that strengthen your relationship, foster mutual understanding, and rebuild connection. These goals are flexible and can evolve as we move forward in your journey toward healing and growth.
Supervision
Offered by Chris Vara, LCSW-C, LICSW, MDiv
For those who do not want to do this work alone, we offer clinical supervision so that you can better understand yourself in relation to this work. Together we will establish an understanding of your context and your goals so that the space we create to explore how theoretical content connects to your work, will also foster deeper connection to yourself and, consequently, your clients.
Organizational Trainings
Creating Safer Spaces
You won’t be asked to do more, but you may be inspired to do things differently.
During a virtual or in-person format, a training tailored to your organizational needs will provide you and your staff the opportunity to learn what goes into ensuring the organizational culture, individual and group spaces, and design of online and physical spaces are welcoming and affirming of all people. By allowing clients to come as they are, with their full selves, and experience unconditional positive regard assists in their healing journey with less organizational barriers. During the training you will experience a safer space to ask questions and engage material that will motivate you to recreate the welcoming and healing experience for others.
These goals are flexible and can evolve as we move forward in your journey toward healing and growth.

Chris Vara
(they/them, he/his or she/her)
Before I worked as a clinician and clinical supervisor at various eating disorder clinics, I received my Master’s of Social Work from Simmons University where I focused on trauma and addiction. Before attending school in Boston, I attended Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA where I studied the intersection of sexuality and religion while earning my Master’s of Divinity. Before attending any graduate programs, I attended Clark University in Worcester MA where I studied Psychology and Creative Writing.
I am passionate about creating inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ people. I am passionate about the intersectionality of identities, specifically identities of race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and how that impacts issues of addictions, traumas and eating disorders. I am passionate about knowing the whole person. I am passionate about not seeing people in need of fixing, rather seeing people in need of remembering that they are already whole.
