Chris Vara

LCSW-C, LICSW, MDiv

(they/them, he/his)

Independently licensed clinical social worker and supervisor in MA, MD, VA, MN, DC, VA and able to provide telehealth in FL

Before I worked as a clinician and clinical supervisor at various eating disorder clinics, I received my Master’s of Social Work from Simmons University where I focused on trauma and addiction. Before attending school in Boston, I attended Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA where I studied the intersection of sexuality and religion while earning my Master’s of Divinity. Before attending any graduate programs, I attended Clark University in Worcester MA where I studied Psychology and Creative Writing.

I am passionate about creating inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ people. I am passionate about the intersectionality of identities, specifically identities of race, gender, sexuality, spirituality, and how that impacts issues of addictions, traumas and eating disorders. I am passionate about knowing the whole person. I am passionate about not seeing people in need of fixing, rather seeing people in need of remembering that they are already whole.
